Our Dissertation Liberation Coaching Program is an individualized program designed to guide you at all stages of your dissertation process. With a deep understanding of the academy, oppression and trauma, we address academic bumps, emotional labor, & motivation.

What is Coaching?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

my coaching philosophy

Our framework and practice is grounded in social justice, liberation and healing practices. These practices inform how we look at the dissertation process, the culture of the academy (including the violence enacted in the doctoral journey), how we have been conditioned by the academy, the prescribed scholar identity, and the hyper-impostor syndrome.

Your coach will collaborate with you to actively explore ways in which you can re-frame and co-construct a new path that honors your health, lived and content knowledge, and brings you to successful completion.

our coaching Process

Coaching is NOT coaching without the following components:

  • Mindful listening: we focus on you and your hopes for attaining a terminal degree. The gift of being listened to deeply and honestly is rare.

  • Clarity: we will ask powerful and insightful questions to help you get clear on what you want, how you want it and steps to get you there.

  • Accountability: this is the greatest gift of coaching. We care about you and your dreams of completing your doctoral journey. We will check on you when you commit to doing something.

  • Action: we will end each session with a commitment to key actions that will shape the shift you are seeking.

  • Ethics: we take coaching very seriously. Our coaching practice abides to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics and Core Competencies.
